Privacy policy

We collect as little as we can get away with. If you just browse, we know almost nothing about you. If you subscribe, we have your email. If you're a builder, we have what you gave us to run your account. We don't sell any of it, to anyone, ever.

Newsletter subscribers: your email address and your opt-in status. That's the whole record.

Builders: your account email, display name, and the shop information you publish on your profile — name, location, links, photos. Your profile content is public by design; your account email is not.

Everyone: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) that we keep briefly for security and debugging, and basic aggregate analytics — which pages get traffic, not which person visited them.

Payment details — entries are purchased on builders' own sites, so card numbers never pass through Chopdraw. We also don't collect government IDs, precise location, or contact lists, and we don't buy data about you from third parties to enrich what we have.

Emails go toward exactly what you signed up for: drop alerts, ending-soon reminders, and the occasional journal story. Builder account data runs the dashboard and the review process. Logs and aggregate analytics keep the site standing and tell us which pages are worth improving.

We don't use your data for advertising profiles, and we don't run third-party ad trackers on the site.

Minimal and functional. A session cookie keeps builders signed in to the dashboard; a preference cookie or two remembers basics like a dismissed banner. There is no cross-site tracking pixel farm here — if you block everything non-essential, the public site works fine.

Service providers who host the site and deliver email, under contracts that limit them to doing that job. Authorities, if the law genuinely compels it. Nobody else. Selling, renting, or trading personal data is not part of the model and won't become part of it.

One thing worth being clear about: when you click through to a builder's entry page, you're on their site under their privacy policy. What they collect there is between you and them — read their policy the way you read their rules.

Newsletter data lives until you unsubscribe — one click in any email, effective immediately. Builder accounts persist while active; ask us to close yours and we'll delete the account data that isn't needed for legal or safety records. Server logs age out on a short rolling window.

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — email hello@chopdraw.com and a person will answer. If we ever make a material change to this policy, we'll date it at the top of this page and say what changed in plain terms, not bury it in a diff.
